 Evaluations of the health risk generated by:

  • food (food products physical, chemical and microbiological test; microbiological investigation for workers in the food industry; sanitation tests in the food industry units)

  • hygienic conditions of human habitat 

Biochemical and hematological tests.

  

EPIDEMIOLOGY & PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT

  • Evaluation of professional and non-professional exposure risk to infectious agents

  • Expertise for hygienic-sanitary conditions and functional isolation precautions in medical units

  • Consulting and advise on the use of antiseptic and disinfectants products

  • Medical and epidemiological consulting in immunization non included in National Immunization Program

  • Evaluation of vaccine efficacy

  • Identification of needs in health services.

  • Assessment of health services utilization in terms of equity, addressability and accessibility.

  • Testing the reliability and validity of standardized questionnaire in quality of life.

  • Training in biostatistic and socio-medical survey methods.

  • Advanced laboratory diagnosis in human infection caused by:

  1.                       Enterobacteriaceae, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Neisseria, Bordetella, Leptospira. Antibiotic susceptibility-resistance tests.

  2.                        A, B, C D, E hepatitis, measles, rubella, rotavirus, respiratory syncytial virus, influenza viruses adenovirus, and non-polio enteroviruses.

  3.                        Toxoplasma gondii, Trichinella spiralis, Echinococcus granulosus, Plasmodium, intestinal protozoa and worms.

  • In vivo and in vitro pathogenicity tests for different microbial agents.

  • Antigen preparation for different tests.

  • Consulting in medical entomology.

OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE DEPARTMENT

  • Consulting the field of occupational medicine and industrial toxicology.

  • Evaluation of the occupational environment features and exposure risk (physical, chemical, psyhological, genetical aspects, etc)

  • Evaluation of the health status through clinical and paraclinical modern methods computer assisted, and offer of medical solution and recommendation.

  • Noxes estimation through modern methods: gas-chromatography, high pressure liquid-cromatograph, atomic absorbtion spectrometry, phase contrast microscopy.

  • Toxicological evaluation for new substances.

  • Technical recommendations and documents elaboration for sanitary authorizations.

  • Investigations: hematological, immunological, biochemical and toxicological tests, electro- cardiography, electro-neuro-miography, functional respiratory tests, psyhological tests.

 

RADIATION HYGIENE LABORATORY

  • Evaluation of the ionising radiation risk for health (environmental and occupational exposure).

  • Evaluation of the radioprotection level in diagnostic radiology services (including dental): quality control of radiological equipment and dose measurements.

  • Multichannel gamma-spectrometry analysis for natural and artificial radioactivity measurement.
